How to create a boho Thanksgiving tablescape

Wondering how to create a boho-chic table setting for the Thanksgiving? Here are some ways to incorporate the bohemian style into your Thanksgiving tablescape!

Incorporate natural textures and elements

Natural textures and materials like pumpkins, leaves, twigs, pinecones, pampas, macrame, wood, pine, burlap, twine, cotton, and leather are great elements to use for your boho Thanksgiving tablescape!

Use natural colors and metallics

Use organic, natural fall colors found in nature like orange, brown, and white. Accent with metals like gold, brass, copper, and silver.

Play with vintage, unique, and mismatched items

The bohemian vibe is very relaxed and eclectic, so don’t be afraid to mix things up by pairing older-looking pieces with newer ones, or even mismatched pieces together, the variety can create a beautiful contrast that feels unique and homey — the perfect vibe for a hosting Thanksgiving with family and friends!

keep it simple

In order to combine the Thanksgiving vibe with the bohemian style for your tablescape you need to create a balance between the two. The best way to do that is to keep things simple and minimal!

How I styled my neutral minimalist boho Thanksgiving tablescape

Since we weren’t going to see family for Thanksgiving this year, we decided to host our first ever Friendsgiving instead, but this table setting works for both!

I’m obsessed with neutrals and anything bohemian, so naturally I wanted to create a holiday tablescape that combined the organic natural vibe of Thanksgiving, with a touch of boho chic.

We had a large party, so when it came to decorating our Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving tablescape, I needed to keep things minimal so we had enough room for each place setting on our table.

For my place setting, I found this beautiful gold scalloped plastic dinnerware set that was just perfect! Normally when we host, our parties are smaller so we use our own plates and utensils, however, for larger parties with more than 6 people, we prefer to use disposable dinnerware so that we’re not doing dishes all night instead of spending time with our guests. The set comes with large and small plates, gold utensils, and gold foiled napkins which I used rolled inside these simple wood napkin rings. I layered the dinnerware on top of my favorite woven placemats for a boho touch. I opted for plastic crystal-cut inspired wine glasses in order to avoid any potential accidents, but they look super real, they’re much cheaper, and they’re reusable too (handwash only)! I bought a pack of 20 from my local Party City, but these glasses from Amazon are pretty similar!

As for my Friendsgiving/Thanksgiving tablescape decor, I dressed the table with this white braided linen tassel table runner, and lined the runner with pinecones, plus some woven and textured pumpkins, as well as my favorite rattan napkin holders for a touch of boho chic style.
